Research topic and relevance
François Major and his team study ribonucleic acids (RNA), which play an essential role in the cell by ensuring the transmission and execution of the instructions encoded in the DNA program. Their research aims to control the behavior of RNAs to help cure and even prevent cancer. The team is currently fabricating personalized microRNAs capable of blocking the proliferation of cancerous cells. They plan on designing RNAs capable of detecting the conditions leading to the development of diseases as soon as they arise and thereby reacting instantly to correct the situation.
