Our transgenesis core facility generates various mouse models for use by IRIC and Université de Montréal investigators as part of their research initiatives in immunology, hematology, virology and cancer.
Housed in a 200 m2 space adjacent to our Animal facility in IRIC’s Marcelle-Coutu Pavilion, the core facility is also accessible to outside scientists from academia and from the industry, through collaborative and contract research agreements.
The following services are currently provided by IRIC’s transgenesis core facility:
- DNA microinjection into the pronucleus
- Gene targeting
- ES cell injection into blastocysts
- Embryo cryopreservation
- Sperm cryopreservation
- In vitro fertilization
- Line rederivation
Technical training is also provided.
